Toner/Ink Jet Cartridges
While technically office supplies, toner and ink jet cartridges are a world unto themselves. It seems like not that long ago that if you company had a single dot matrix printer, it would serve all of your needs. Now, laser printers, black and color, ink jet printers, laser copiers, and laser faxes are commonplace, with most offices having multiple of each.
tonerWhile the cost of the machinery has become more affordable, the cost of the consumables (the ink and toner cartridges) has mostly remained the same or risen. That is why it is important to choose a machine based upon the consumables. While all printer manufacturers will tell you to only use their toner or ink, the truth is that ink is ink and toner is toner. Compatible cartridges can often save you significantly over OEM cartridges, without losing quality or yield. Plus, they are guaranteed, so there is no worry. Not happy? We’ll replace it or refund your money.
Regardless of the type of printer you own, we have a solution for you. Not all machines have compatible alternatives, especially the newer models. Some models have remanufactured cartridges that could potentially save you additional money beyond what a compatible might save you.
Compatible cartridges are brand new, but were not made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Remanufactured cartridges are used cartridges that have been remade, replacing parts that need to be replaced to make a cartridge perform as if new. Bear in mind that refilled cartridges are not the same as remanufactured cartridges. A refilled cartridge is simply a cartridge that has been refilled. Unfortunately, these type of cartridges do not typically give good quality or yield because used parts on the cartridge are not replaced as needed.

tonerAn additional offering in the toner cartridge area is MICR toner cartridges. MICR is a special ink that allows for placement of characters that are read by certain types of machines. The most common use for MICR encoding is in the financial industry. The numbers at the bottom of your checks are printed using MICR toner so that their processing machines can read the information needed easily. MICR toner cartridges allow users to buy blank check stock and print their entire check when printing.
