Multi-Part Forms
A multi-part form is pretty much what it says it is: a form with multiple parts or plies. An exception to this is that continuous forms are a different category of a multi-part form. The key feature of any multi-part form is the ability to fill in the information once, and receive multiple copies for distribution. Multi-part forms can typically be divided into two categories: Stubbed forms or Edge-glued Forms.
Stubbed forms can also be known as snap-a-parts or unit sets. A stubbed form is a multi-part form that includes a stub. The stub is designed to keep the different plies together. The stub and form are separated by a perforation (perf) that allows for the actual form to be separated from the stub and distributed.
Edge-glued forms are the same as stubbed forms, but without the stub. Instead, a thin line of glued is placed between the plies in order to keep those plies together until they are ready to be separated.
Multi-part forms can be loose or bound in a manifold book, hole punched, consecutively numbered, etc. Multi-part forms can also include carbons between plies, although most prefer the carbonless forms that can perform the same purpose more efficiently.
