Flat printing is best described as an item of printing that has only one ply, or part. Full color work, although 1 ply, is more often referred to as Commercial Printing, so would not fit in this category. Flat printing includes any basic sheet that can be filled out by hand or run through a laser printing or is not filled in at all. Flat printing products can be loose or padded, hole punched, consecutively numbered, etc.

Examples of common flat printing uses are:

Business Cards Letterhead Invoices Statements Purchase Orders Bills of Lading Proposals Delivery Tickets Packing Lists Notepads Etc

 

Bear in mind that these are just a few examples of common items that you might use in your business that qualify as flat printing. And, if any of the above have multiple parts, they are no longer flat printing.
